I will never deny that I am a messy person and a lot of my mess tends to accumulate on my bedside table. Taking the mess out of the room and putting it in a neutral background allows you to focus on each object and its place on the table. For me everything on the table has a story and reason behind it and how it got there, but to anyone else it is probably just rubbish.
This led me on to thinking about how every piece of furniture, scuff or bit of tat in our homes has a reason behind it getting there, sentimental or practical. If you want it to a room can tell a story, just like a painting or a sculpture, and in some cases it can be much more personal.
