Recently I went to see an exhibition of Doreen fletchers work at the Nunnery gallery in Bow, it was a series of paintings from throughout her life. The paintings are all of east London current and past. I loved how they were not of stereotypical or pretty settings people would normally paint, this gave them character and were a lot more approachable, particularly as they are of the local area.
