Strange Days – 180 the strand

I recently visited ‘Strange Days’ at 180 The Strand, showcasing film installations, I really liked the curation of the exhibition and I enjoyed walking through all the rooms, like a journey. Each of the films had a different physical space enabling the viewer to focus upon the pieces and become absorbed. Pipilotti Rist’s, ‘4th Floor to Mildness’, films have an underwater immersive feel and are displayed on the ceiling as the viewers lay on beds beneath, the effect was both relaxing and hypnotic.

This exhibition taught me how films can be displayed in much more dynamic and interesting ways.
